THRIVE

Your adaptive fitness coach
Standard fitness apps assume every body works the same way. Thrive is an adaptive training platform that rejects that premise. It uses AI to dynamically tailor workouts to your unique physical capabilities, injuries, and recovery needs—because a workout plan is useless if it hurts you.

Conceptual Pitch
Training through barriers
We were designing for the "edge cases" that the fitness industry ignores: people with tendonitis, mobility impairments, or chronic pain. The interface couldn't just look cool; it had to feel safe.

Constraints
Safety over everything
Bad advice leads to injury. The app needed to highlight nuances in exercise form and recovery.
Visual accessibility
High contrast and large touch targets were essential to support users with diverse physical abilities.
Designed for consistency, not reality
Most fitness apps are built around rigid plans, not human variability. They assume consistency, ignore context, and treat deviation as failure. For users dealing with pain or injury, this isn’t motivating it’s unsafe. When systems can’t adapt, users are forced into a lose-lose choice: push through and risk injury, or fall behind and quit.
Pain Points
Rigid fitness routines
Static PDFs or apps dont account for daily fluctuations in energy, pain levels, or recovery needs. Users often feel pressured to stick to plans that don’t fit their current state.
Stuck between rehab and strength
Recovery and performance live in separate ecosystems. Physical therapy happens in one app, strength training in another, leaving users without a clear path from “recovery” to “progressing.”
Cookie cutter programming alienates users
Seeing exercises you physically cannot do (like box jumps for someone with joint issues) is demotivating and exclusionary.
Coordinating Momentum
We shifted the focus from "tracking" to "structure." The app acts as a project manager for your goals, handling the boring logistics so you can focus on the experience.
Solutions
Dynamic Routines
Before each workout, users input their current condition (pain levels, energy, mobility). The AI then adjusts the routine in real-time, swapping exercises or modifying intensity to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Integrated physical therapy
Thrive blends physical therapy directly into your weekly training splits. Instead of two days of rest you might get 30 minutes of isometric holds and mobility work tailored to your recovery needs.
AI as the Architect
Instead of blank pages, AI generates realistic plans based on timelines and difficulty. These plans are then presented in a schedule that can be adjusted as needed.

Onboarding Flow
The onboarding flow is designed to be quick and engaging. Students answer a series of simple questions about their academic background, interests, and financial need. As they progress, the app dynamically updates the 'Potential Money' counter, providing immediate feedback and motivation to complete the profile.

Printed Materials
To support our MVP pitch, we designed a set of printed materials including business cards and a brochure. These materials maintain the app's clean and trustworthy aesthetic, using the same color palette and typography to ensure brand consistency.
